The theme of the 2025 Imperial Springs International Forum is “For Global Cooperation and Solidarity”. About 200 participants from 30 countries, including 30 former heads of state, heads of government, and leaders of international organizations, as well as internationally-renowned experts, scholars, and business leaders attended the Forum.

This year’s ISIF mainly focus on the following topics: 1. Global Security Challenges in Times of Uncertainty; 2. Recalibrating the Global Governance: Pursuit of Greater Stability and Certainty; 3. Understanding, Inclusiveness, and Cooperation in a Diverse World; 4. Artificial Intelligence: Balancing Innovation, Security and Governance; 5. Countdown to 2030: Delivering on Global Public Goods; 6. The Dynamics of Green and Low-carbon Development; 7. Global Economic Trends Amid Trade and Tariff Conflicts.

Since its inauguration, more than 200 foreign dignitaries and 600 renowned experts, scholars and business leaders from China and overseas have attended the forum. The themes of the previous ISIFs include “Collective Action for One Future”, “Multilateralism: More Exchanges, Greater Inclusiveness and Cooperation”, “Multilateralism 2.0: Global Cooperation in the Post-Pandemic Era”, “Multilateralism and Sustainable Development”, “Advancing Reform and Opening-up, Promoting Win-Win Cooperation”, “Global Governance and China’s Perspective”, “Inclusive, Sustainable and Resilient Cities in the Belt and Road Initiative”, “Belt and Road Initiative – New Opportunities and New Cooperation” and “China-Australia Economic and Trade Relations”. With extensive and in-depth discussions, ISIF has been enormously successful.

For three years in a row, respectively on November 30, 2017, December 12, 2018, and December 3, 2019, His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, met the foreign dignitary participants in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. On 5th December 2021, President Xi Jinping delivered a video message to the forum and UN Secretary-General António Guterres delivered a video speech. On December 4, 2023 and December 12, 2024, President Xi sent congratulatory letters to the forum for two consecutive years. President Xi noted that since its establishment 10 years ago, the Imperial Springs International Forum has advocated multilateralism, conducted in-depth discussions on global governance, and shared China’s propositions, playing a positive role in enhancing exchanges and mutual understanding between China and other countries around the world.
