With its inauguration in 2014, Imperial Springs International Forum (ISIF) is now jointly organized by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Australia China Friendship and Exchange Association, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and World Leadership Alliance - Club de Madrid. With the aims of initiating substantive discussions on world peace, economic development and cultural exchanges, promoting greater understanding and consensus among all parties, for regional as well as global cooperation, ISIF is a new type of high-end platform for China to conduct in-depth communication with the rest of the world.

The theme of the 2024 Imperial Springs International Forum is “Collective Action for One Future”. More than 200 participants from the political, academic, and business circles in over 50 countries, including over 50 former heads of state, heads of government, and leaders of international organizations, and over 90 internationally-renowned experts, scholars, and business leaders attended the Forum.

This year’s ISIF mainly focus on the following topics: 1. Global Strategic Stability; 2. Financing for Development. Towards Full Implementation of the SDGs; 3. Enhancing Global Cooperation: Shaping a Shared Future for Humankind; 4. Traditional and Non-Traditional Challenges to Global Security; 5. Tackling Challenges Facing the World Economy; 6. United Nations Summit of the Future, the Future of Global Governance; 7. AI & Green Technology for Progress and Development; 8. Sustainable Development and the Second World Social Summit; 9. People-to-people Exchanges for Mutual Understanding.

For three years in a row, respectively on November 30, 2017, December 12, 2018, and December 3, 2019, His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, met the foreign dignitary participants in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. On 5th December 2021, ISIF was privileged to host Chinese President Xi Jinping who delivered a video message and the Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres who delivered a speech via video at the opening ceremony. On 4th December 2023, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent the 2023 ISIF opening ceremony a congratulatory letter. President Xi noted that since its establishment, the Imperial Springs International Forum has brought together people of insight from all over the world to discuss many issues influencing world peace and stability, sustainable economic development, cultural exchanges and mutual learning, thus playing a positive role in promoting international cooperation and enhancing closer people-to-people ties.
